1. Firstly you need to put a line through the incorrect date in black ink.
2. Using the franking machine, choose Zero test print and check the date is correctly set on the franking machine.
3. Next re-frank the envelope with the correct date either:
– On the bottom left-hand corner or shorter edge of the envelope or;
– If using a franking machine label, place on the envelope to the left of the original franking impression.
4. Remember if you have used Zero test print, to re-select the correct product on your franking machine interface when next franking your mail to avoid underpayment and unnecessary surcharges from Royal Mail.
